ABOUT ROOM TO BLOOM

Each spring The Mint Museum Auxiliary plans, produces, and hosts the Room to Bloom Celebration, a premiere fundraiser for The Mint Museum. Since its inception over 60 years ago, this effort has contributed over $13 million towards The Mint Museum including funds and acquisitions for the Museum's permanent collection. The Mint Museum Auxiliary continues to build on the legacy of outstanding and creative fundraising programs. This year's Room to Bloom Celebration highlights include:

This marquee kick-off event for the Room to Bloom Celebration will be held at the Mint Museum uptown with keynote speaker, Lela Rose.  Lela Rose is a New York City based fashion designer with a collection that spans a complete range of designer separates, accessories and jewelry as well as exquistely designed bridal gowns and accessories.  Lela is also well known for her love of entertaining and is the author of, PRÊT-À-PARTY : Great Ideas for Good TImes and Creative Entertaining

A throw back to the original Hawaii Five-O, this evening event will celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Mint Museum with luau-style eats, libations and sounds of the 70s and 80s from Charlotte superstars, The Bad Daddies band.

This perennially sold-out coffee, lecture and luncheon will be held at the Charlotte Country Club which hosts 500 guests and features a silent auction and book signing. Frances Schultz, a North Carolina native, is a journalist, TV Personality and author of The Bee Cottage Story: How I Made a  Muddle of Things and Decorated My Way Back to Happiness.  Frances is a contributing editor to House Beautiful and former Editor-At-Large at Veranda, as well as former on-air host of the award winning cable television show, Southern Living Presents.
