Talk of the Town: Trina Turk

October 2012

"Mondays are the new Thursdays." Trina Turk
Thanks to the generous support of Trina Turk and her team, our sponsors, and a crowd of 400 guests, the Mint Museum Auxiliary's Fall EnrichMINT Forum raised over $32,000last Monday night!   These funds will be used to support inspiring educational offerings for the community and significant acquisitions for The Mint Museum's permanent collection.

I would like to especially thank Jodianne Johnson and Windy O'Connor for their amazing leadership of this event. These two talented women spent countless hours over the past several months to ensure that this event was a success. From coordinating models' shoe sizes to unloading boxes in the wee hours of the morning, these ladies tended to every last detail.  The fashionable "Mod Squad" recruited an impressive turnout of 400 guests. Special thanks to Erin Vorhoff and Penny Forshaw for hosting Trina and company Sunday night; to Anne Poole for making the reservations process seamless; to Reid Simons for handling the press and public relations; to Anna Omirly for overseeing the logistics of the trunk show; to Laura Grace for her unwavering support; and to Jay Everette for being our charming auctioneer.

We could not have brought Trina Turk to Charlotte without the help of our amazing sponsors...Presenting Sponsors: Sloan and Wells Fargo The Private Bank along with Corporate Sponsors:  Aida Erin InteriorsDr. Elizabeth Rostan / Charlotte Skin and Laser and Ruard Veltman Architecture. Please show these sponsors your appreciation by supporting their businesses.

Trina Turk's support of our event was outstanding.  Not only did Trina and her team secure our fabulous auction items to The Grace Bay Club in the Turks and Caicos, and The Parker Hotel in Palms Springs, but they also donated 20% of the proceeds from the trunk show to The Mint Museum.
The Fall EnrichMINT Forum is the second annual fall educational event for the Auxiliary and marked the end of the 40th Anniversary of The Mint Museum's Fashion Collection. The Auxiliary began the Fashion Collection in 1972 and it now numbers over 10,000 items.

Throughout the year the Auxiliary will be honoring the visionary volunteers who started our organization by highlighting modern women and their accomplishments such as Trina Turk. Be sure to see www.mintmuseumauxiliary.org for upcoming events and for press on The Fall EnrichMINT Forum.
